Everyone was born to create. We're alive to contribute something that no one else ever has, nor ever will, contribute. It lies latent inside until we discover the power of disciplined study, practice, practice, and more practice.
Part of the process involves patience. Nothing of any quality happens quickly. The only things that happen that way are destructive, as we've all seen in history. The time it takes to build a house is much greater than the time it takes for a careless fire to destroy it. So, in order to get good at anything, we need patience to persevere.
Another part of the process is acceptance of repeated failures until a skill eventually becomes a reality. I remember studying drum rolls as a child. I practiced and practiced, wondering if those drumsticks would ever move fast enough to get that wonderful, blurred wall of sound. It happened "all of a sudden." That was, however, after many months of practice and failed attempts.
No matter what careers I've achieved professional status with, all included incredible hours of study, notes, review, practice, failures, determination, and eventual successes. Even then, the more I've learned, the more I've discovered there is to learn ahead.
So, unleash your unique creativity. Take those lessons. Read those books. Attend those workshops. Practice. Fail. Practice more. Fail closer to your goal. Eventually, you'll play that guitar, dance on your toes, paint that picture, or whatever your soul longs to create.
Don't miss it. Good investment of our time is the ticket to expressing our talents, but it only lasts for a season. Decide to do that creative thing you always dreamed of doing. It's within your grasp. Just roll your sleeves up, and shape and mold your life!
