From the moment of birth, throughout life, and when leaving this world, everyone suffers pain. Whether the physical pain of injury or age, or the emotional pain of loss of loved ones, everyone must find ways of dealing with it. We all suffer, and we all get the blues.

Blues music is a means of emotionally expressing life's pain and disappointments, its trials and betrayals, and its inevitable losses. The most important instrument to a blues musician is their guitar. From the heart to the fingers, this universal angst is expressed through guitars more than through any other instrument. It's why blues players love their guitars. They unite to share the deepest hurts, and in doing so, remind the rest of us that we're not alone in our many dark moments.
