How I love summer! The lush growth, especially with all the rain we've had, is incredibly colorful. There's something about all the life around us at this time of year that's contagious.
It's been close to a month since we had the longest daylight day, and already we can see the sun coming up a bit later in the morning, and setting earlier at night. Certainly summer has more to offer us, but take heed of these reminders that it's only here for a fleeting season. Each of us is allowed only so many summers, and we don't know how many that will be. As a result, stop for a few minutes every day and truly drink it all in; the sound of birds, the fresh air in our homes with windows open, beautiful nature surrounding us as we take our walks, etc.
So today, take a few minutes from your routine. Turn off the electronic music, cell phone images, depressing news, etc. Listen, feel, and take in the beauty of summer. Before this one goes in your record book as a past event, never to return, enjoy it as fully as you can. It's alright not to be "doing something" every minute. Quietly, just experience "now." Our now's are clicking by. Savor them.....
