There's no denying that stress and concern are everywhere. Without minimizing our need to be part of life's solutions, we need to create joyful moments in our days. It has been found that when we smile, we feel happier. When we frown, we actually feel more sad. This has been proven in clinical studies.
While news media gets great ratings the more fear they fill our lives with, only each of us has the power to filter what we excessively take in, as well as what outlook we choose for our limited days on planet earth.
In case no one else has given you this permission, you have mine to smile and feel happy and grateful, even when no one is looking. Think of how much more this can do for your world when you do this in front of others. It has also been proved that people usually mirror the expressions of those around them. When you choose to wear a positive, welcoming smile, those close to you not only wear one back, but they also feel happier.
It sounds like a "stupid" little thing, but is it? Don't we all need to choose at least a good helping of joy and hope when we think of it? You bet we do!
