Each year, I hear about seniors I photographed who are now done with college. "Could it really be 5 years?" I say the same thing each year. I'm sure their parents do as well. Have you ever seen an hourglass? Well, that sand is trickling down even as I speak.
Hearing about these nice young people again brings back memories of how much we all enjoyed the process of senior pictures together. Usually the senior, myself, and one or both parents are all in on the photography session, especially the outdoor portion. It's not only a nice family memory for them, but it's also a nice memory for me. I get to be a little part of so many families during senior, dance, family portrait, and wedding assignments. I've found you can never have too many new connections and experiences along this journey of life. It's what makes the trip worthwhile.
So, as I salute this sweet young lady upon her graduation, I do the same for all young people who've worked hard to learn skills to serve others. There are many, many needs out there, so the more trained people willing to pitch in, the better for us all.
Congratulations Class of 2021! This may be the end of this portion of your education, but it's only the beginning of your lives and missions to help others. In the process, you'll be repaid with gratitude each day for a job well done. You'll also earn salaries so, you too, can bring new lives into this world and continue the parade of life. Then, one day, you'll show your children the same pride your parents are showing you today!
Best wishes and congratulations to you all!
