As the restrictions for mask wearing are being loosened, we all benefit from one of life's most encouraging gifts: other people's smiles. How I've missed them, and know you have as well. When we're having a difficult day or time of life, nothing is as good a reminder that there's hope than seeing smiles on the faces of others.
With that said, let's spread some around ourselves. We all carry around a lot of heavy baggage. The person near you is doing the same. Let's make that little effort to put on a smile "for them." They need them as much as we do. Another benefit of smiling is that it makes us feel better inside as well.
I don't know if a lot of things from the past will be "in style" again; however, one look that never goes out of style is a smiling face. Wear yours today, for someone else, and for you.
I love the sweet lyrics of the classic song "Smile" written by Charlie Chaplin:
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by
Through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Hide every trace of sadness
Althought a tear may be ever so near
You must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth while
