Artists are intentional. They have a beautiful vision in mind, then work tirelessly to convert that into something tangible. They bring their vision into reality, giving it life. The same can be said of any creative endeavor, whether writing a song, preparing a meal for a loved family, or creating a new life to bring into your family.
A painter is very specific about what colors go into their work, to the point of mixing their own. They're not limited by what they purchase, but only by their imaginations AND willingness to toil for days to make their dreams visible. It's incredibly liberating at the same time.
So, what colors are you using to paint your story? Are you settling for the same things the world is tossing at everyone each and every day, or are you willing to create your own? Sure, it's work, as was creating this and every piece of art my mind envisions to beautify the world. When it's midnight, and I've totally lost track of time for the past few hours, I just follow the creative story in my spirit. I could have watched TV and passively surrendered to the numbing flow. Instead, I've discovered the wonder of discovery in every effort to create for myself.
So, what colors are YOU using to paint your story, or are you letting someone else cover you in their paint? You deserve better, and something inside you is longing to express itself. It's why you're here: to create, not simply to absorb. Here's permission. Go do it!! The rest of us can't wait to see what you create!
