One of the reasons I've loved photography since childhood is the power of its messages. This image of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan speaks volumes.
We're so impatient with others and focused on ourselves. Can we imagine the incredible patience Ann Sullivan had to have to teach blind AND deaf Helen Keller? With that said, can we comprehend the depth of Helen Keller, when she shared these profound words:
"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved."
Life is hard for everyone, and for some like Helen, it was incredibly hard. We all need some cold water tossed in our faces to wake us up. This image does that for my complaining. Now, let's use today as the gift it is: a fleeting opportunity to bless others who are struggling too....
