This young lady studies at the Draper Center For Dance in Rochester, NY. She’s another of their students I’ve gotten to know and photograph over the past couple years. This fine facility is associated with Rochester City Ballet, a professional dance company preserving, yet innovating, the beautiful art of ballet. Very fortunate to have it in our city.
Lily will be completing her training at this school soon, as she completes her high school education. She is required to manage her time, so as to participate in significant ballet study and practice, while also completing her academic studies. Lily is a respected example of what young people are capable of if they’re motivated and willing to accept the responsibilities necessary to create their desired future. I salute Lily, as well as all young people willing to accept full responsibility for turning their dreams into reality. (I should add, there are also many middle-aged and older people who are reinventing themselves with the same effort and willingness to pay the price.) I thank everyone I meet, like this young lady, who inspire me to continue pursuing my dreams. It’s not over until you say it’s over. All the best to every one of you with hopes and dreams, and more importantly, with the maturity to pay the price.
